Welcome to the
website for the Bates County's Great American BBQ State Championship &
Fall Festival. This will be our sixth year with the BBQ after a
very successful first five years.
The Butler Police Association was formed with the
idea to give back to the community where we live and
work. We have annual community projects that we
support from fundraisers like the BBQ Championship.
These projects consist of Scholarships, Shop with a
Cop Program for underprivileged children, Support
Children’s Athletics, Purchased Automated External
Defibulator for patrol cars and the swimming pool,
Donated to the Senior Center, Purchased a tracking
and drug dog for the Community just to name a few.
Last year the BBQ Championship and fall festival
brought a lot of dedicated visitors to the
fairgrounds. We had great weather
again last year.
We
had
67
teams with
100%
certified judges in 2010. We paid $8,300.00
in payouts for the BBQ Competition. This year
we will be paying at least $8,300.00
dollars in payouts.

This year we are expecting a large crowd with even
more activities. Many of these activities are
being performed by community civic groups to support
their causes. Please look at our entertainment
section for a complete list of things to do at the
festival. We are sure that no matter your
taste in activities there will be something here for
everyone. We look forward in seeing you at the
fairgrounds in October.
